Arlene A. Edwards

January 10, 1926 - May 3, 2019

The end of an era. Our dear Arlene Edwards left this world May 3, 2019; a full life at age 93. She looked forward to joining her beloved husband of 59 years, Gerald, who passed June 6, 2008, at age 81.  She joins him and their three children who predeceased them both.  Born in the farmlands of Anselmo, Nebraska, January 10, 1926, she married Gerald, a Navy veteran, February 9, 1949.  Arlene and Gerald lived the tradition of a strong work ethic, the value of family, perfecting gardening, always building something, and keeping up a beautiful and warm home. We have cherished our times and many wonderful memories. She continued their tradition of love and laughter and a model of how to maintain a good marriage and friendships over time.  They leave behind many thankful nieces, nephews and friends who have so appreciated being with them. Arlene taught us many things in how she lived. Their home was a place of warmth, love, laughter and celebration. We spent much time in the kitchen where we experienced fine cooking, baking, planning and memorable storytelling. They were always there for us. They were so aware of each of our lives and  interested in our stories, whether our achievements or our tears. Love and commitment endure all things. They treated us all as a gift. The truth is they are ours. We will carry them with us always from one generation to the next.  Thank you for the road map and your gift of a life well lived. Love you, always.

Services will be held at Mission Chapel Hermosa Gardens located at 900 Meridian Ave Colton, CA 92324, on Friday, June 7, 2019 @ 11:00 am followed by interment at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:01 pm.
