Manuel
Guerrero, born in East Los Angeles, Calif. July 23, 1933, and passed away on
January 11, 2016 in Corona, Calif. Manuel suffered from Alzheimer's Dementia
for more than ten years and died from complications of the disease. He is
predeceased by his parents Manuel and Rosa Guerrero-Lamy and his sister Juanita
Pettit. Manuel leaves behind his spouse, Faye Guerrero of Corona, Calif; his
brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Stella Guerrero; his daughter and
son-in-law Susan and David Funston and grandchildren Dennis and Stephanie; his
nephew and spouse, Timothy and Mariana Guerrero; his niece and spouse, Katharine
and Nicholas Yanez, as well as four other nephews: Steve Pettit, Larry Pettit,
Randy Pettit, and Glen Pettit and one other niece and her spouse Cynthia and
Andrew Valdez. After graduating from Garfield High School with an aeronautical
major, Manuel enlisted in the United States Air Force in June of 1951, serving
in the Korean War and again in 1961 during the early years of the Vietnam War.
After being honorably discharged in 1964 Manuel continued in his aerospace
career working for companies such as McDonnell Douglas, Hughes Aircraft,
Lockheed-Martin, Rockwell (Boeing) and Northrup-Grumman from which he retired
in 1994. He married his wife Faye in September of 1980 and the two enjoyed a
happy life together. He had a great love for travel, golf, baseball and
photography. Always with a smile, family members and friends will miss his
kindness, sense of humor and gentle ways. A memorial service with his ashes
present will be held on Tuesday February 2nd. The service will include a Rosary
and will be held at Hermosa Gardens in the Mission Chapel, 900 N. Meridian
