So very sad to hear this. Coach Shelko always cared so much for his students. He brought us so many wonderful memories and showed us the true meaning of pride, respect and the Fighting Irish Spirit! My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be missed. ..

Mark Rozelle

Dick was my football coach at Kennedy High School for three years ending in the 1969 season (1970 graduating class). He was a very a very special man that took an interest in my personal life and in my college choice. We always jokingly described him as the "nicest guy in the world ... off the field." As a coach he was intense and driven for us to do our best, while showing a clever sense of humor. I'll be at the service to honor this wonderful man who made a difference in my life. Mark Rozelle
