Zoe Christine Asbury
March
4, 1947 - February 25, 2016
On
the morning of February 25, 2016, our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt
passed peacefully after fulfilling an interesting 69 years less one week of life.
She is survived by her daughter Lynn Matthews and her husband Billy Matthews,
granddaughter Heather Wilson, grandson Rand Phillips, brother and sister-in-law
Greg and Patti Vernon, as well as nieces Jamie Moore and Lindsey Clyde. Zoe’s
passing was preceded by her parents, Loren Merle and Helen Jane Vernon, husband
Joe Ellis in 1987 and husband Joe Asbury in 2007. Zoe was born in Kansas City,
Missouri but she grew up in California on the high desert where she graduated
from Victor Valley Senior High in 1965. She was a unique sole and a bit of a
practical joker but was also giving, kind hearted, a terrific cook, great
photographer and had a love for learning, which lead her to a degree in
anthropology later in life. A celebration of Zoe’s life will be held at her
daughter’s home in Frederick, Colorado on May 15th, 2016.

I
am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy losing a loved one.. During my own
times of sorrow I have found comfort in knowing that God promises to one day
forever rid the earth of Death and Suffering. “God . . . will wipe all tears
from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or
pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4. He also promises that we will get to see our dead
loved ones once again and that is of especial comfort. “There is going to be a
resurrection.”—Acts 24:15,
