Dewitt
Turner, Jr. 71 of Lake Elsinore, CA, passed away. Celebration of his life will
be held August 19, at 2pm through 4:30pm at Elsinore Woman's club, 710 Graham
Avenue in Lake Elsinore, CA. Dewitt was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on July 19,
1945. He graduated from George Washington Carver High School and attended
Alcorn State University where he met his wife Cathy. They later married and
started a family and moved from Jackson Mississippi to California. They raised
two wonderful boys Keith and Patrick. that union span over 50 years. Dewitt
worked in logistics over 35 years and was last employed by NDC Distribution of
Ontario, Ca. He enjoyed family time, especially with his boys and
grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, loved fishing and cooking especially
grill cooking. He enjoyed a good evening out with friends. He had a joyful
laugh, contagious personality and cared about people. He could walk into a room
knowing no one and walk out knowing everyone. He was a joy to be around,
outgoing, and full of life. He served on the Riverside Transit District
committee. Dewitt is survived by his spouse, Cathy of Lake Elsinore, CA; Sons,
Keith of Lake Elsinore, CA and Patrick (Dawn) of San Pedro, CA; grandchildren,
Jahzmin, Savannah, Keith, Jr, Albert, Seth, and Cole; brother Carl, two
sisters, Lannie and Cathy Jo of Tupelo and a brother and sister of New York.
Dewitt was preceded by death by his Dad, Dewitt Turner, mother Geneva
Turner-Mosley, sister, Shirley Thomas, his grandparents Tasker and June Elliot.
In lieu of flowers celebration of life donations may be given to American
Cancer Society at 6355 Riverside Avenue, Riverside CA 92506. The Turner family
wishes to thank friends and family for all sympathy cards, meals and the
support given to us in our time of need.
