Gloria Jean Newman
April
21, 1943 - July 8, 2016
Gloria
Jean Newman was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 21, 1943. She entered
Heaven’s gates on July 8, 2016. A wonderful mother, grandmother and homemaker,
Gloria was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and
friends. Over the years she collected a large library of cookbooks. She also
loved to watch food and cooking channels. She was also a special education
teacher for 25 years. From which she retired from. Gloria had an unwavering
faith in God. She was a member of several of the Catholic Saints Seminaries and
donated frequently. Even though Gloria had a disability of losing the use of
her left arm 18 years ago she was a very active person. You never would see her
not being busy. She had a strong mind & heart for all those around her. She
was a very caring woman and everyone who came in contact with her just loved
her. She had a feisty side to her but used it when was needed. She adored her
family and was very family oriented. Gloria was survived by her 2 daughters
Linda Jean Alexander & Jeanette Aljarrah She is also survived by four
grandchildren, Mark Anthony Saiz, Sean Anthony Saiz, Ryan Dale DeJarnette &
Ashley Renee Sanchez. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 25, 2016
at 3:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn 21300 Via Verde Drive, CA 91724 for memorial
located in the chapel. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held the
following the memorial at the garden mausoleum. Be still and know that I am
God. Psalm 46:10

My
Dearest Aunt Gloria. She will truly be missed. I will miss all of her calls to
give warm wishes for every holiday throughout my life. All of her letters and
cards she would drop in the mail and not just for holidays. It was just
because. Speaking with her over the phone was always a treat. She wanted to
always remind me of how she took care of my mom, when she was pregnant with me,
(very rough pregnancy). She would go on about the day I was born and how she
considered me, not as her niece, as one of her own. I am so happy we took the
time for family photos and photos again together at Linda's wedding. So sorry
Linda and Jeanette to the greatest loss of all. Love you Both, Your Cousin
Lillian Newman- Meurer.

I
met Gloria 24 years ago...my husband was friends with Linda's husband. Linda
and I hit it off right away and very soon she introduced me to her mother. I
remembered thinking at the time how wonderful it was that Gloria and her
daughters were so close. And it didn't stop there...often times when I visited
at Gloria's house Linda's Nani would be there too!! It was amazing to see 3
generations of women who loved each other so much. I knew Gloria to be upbeat
and funny...strong...feisty and loving!! Everyone loved Gloria...including me.
My prayers go out to the Newman girls...and surviving family. I can understand
how much you will all miss such an extraordinary woman. Please remember it's
not goodbye...only see you later! Love you all Lisa Vonic

Gloria
Jean Newman was the definition of mother. Her girls Linda and Jeanette along
with her grandchildren were the vein of her existence. It's still inconceivable
that she was called home unexpectedly this soon. Although, knowing Gloria she
is prancing around heaven with her amazing mother. As both have earned their
wings and shall reign over their girls and grands through all eternity. Rest in
Paradise Dearest Gloria. God bless you...

She's
my mother. I love & miss her so so much! She was the most loving and
compassionate person. She was always there for me and all of us and anyone else
she could help. She loved helping people and teaching kids & students as
she was a special education teacher for 26 years & donated her teaching
helping time at Water of Life Christian School. She is very much loved by
everyone who knew her! Her death was a total shock to me! She will always be in
my mind & heart forever & I will NEVER forget her!! She's in peace now
in heaven with God and my most wonderful Grandmother Jean Louise Miata. I love
you mom always & forever, U were the BEST & my very best friend as
well. You were always there for me through thick & thin. The most loving
& caring mother. RIP with true love forever. Love & Kissing your daughter, Jeanette

Our
deepest sympathies go out to you Linda and Jeanette and your families in the
passing of your mother. Our families have known each other for all of our lives
and most of theirs as well. At one point in all of our lives we were all the
family we each had living in California with the rest of our family in New York
and scattered elsewhere. We had many fun times with your Mom and Dad and all of
you. One of my fondest memories of your mom was her hilarious laugh!! She was
indeed a great cook. I remember helping her and your Nani make rice balls for
your house blessing in San Dimas in our early days of living in California. I
thought we were in heaven when she would let us pick lemons off your trees in
front of your house. She was always so loving to me and my brothers Joe and
Bobby and sister Cricket. She is gone from all pain now and is with your
grandparents and dad in heaven now. With much love and prayers to you all.
Susie (Hahn) Painter & husband Rex, Joe Hahn (my dad and lifelong friend of
your mom and dad).
