H. Wade Robinson

October 11, 1947 – September 25, 2016

H. Wade Robinson, 68, of Colton, cherished husband, father and grandpa, passed away peacefully at home with family at his bedside on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 after a courageous year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.  Wade was born on Oct. 11, 1947 in Loma Linda, CA to Dollie and Howard Robinson.  He spent his childhood and teen years in Loma Linda, attending Mission Elementary School, Cope Jr. High, and graduated from Redlands High School in 1965.

After high school Wade worked in Environmental Services at LLUMC while attending Valley College.  From 1968-70 he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Alaskan/Canadian Mission.  In July, 1972 he married Tani Madsen. They lived in Provo, UT until 1975 when he graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Political Science.  He then attended Chaffey College and earned an AA in Institutional Management.

In 1977, Wade began working at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana where he was an EVS Supervisor and later Department Administrator at Riverside and Baldwin Park Kaiser.  He and his wife were ordinance workers at the Redlands LDS Temple.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Rod and Randy.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Tani, 5 daughters, 1 son and 12 grandchildren: Julie (Scott) Rork of Phoenix, Arizona (Brady, Delaney, Natalie and Corey); Amy Gotcher of Pleasant Grove, Utah (Ian, Tyler, Ryan and Kyle), Alicia (Jason) Coleman of Beaumont (Jayden); Trisha (Josh) Fenn of Beaumont (Braden, Mackenzie, and Zac), Ashley of Colton, and Eric of Colton. He is also survived by his sister Claudia Merrill of Phelan, brother Brad Robinson of Ogden, Utah, stepfather Harold Wright of Idaho, and step brothers Vic, Milton and David.


Funeral services will be on Friday, Sept. 30 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 250 E. Laurel, Colton, CA, with visitation at 11:00 am and funeral at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Hermosa Cemetery in Colton.
