Prudence Agnes Ramos

September 14, 1933 – September 16, 2016

Prudence Agnes Ramos, age 83, passed away on September 16, 2016, in Hemet, CA, surrounded by family and friends.  Prudence was known for her great love of her family, her hard work ethic, her great sense of humor, and her spunky attitude toward life.  She is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Prudence was born in Yuma, Arizona, to Jane Lubo-Clarke and Lloyd Clarke, and was a member of the Cahuilla Band of Indians, and grew up on the Cahuilla Indian Reservation with her three siblings, Virginia Liera, Gerald Clarke Sr., and Patricia Liera. Prudence and her siblings attended the Little Red School house in Anza, CA, and she grew up helping to work the cattle with her family on the reservation.  For years, Prudence and her family enjoyed getting together for the annual “round-up,” and she made the best chili beans and salsa!
 In, 1957, Prudence married Gilbert Ramos Sr. and they settled in Hemet, CA, raising their six children, Gilbert Jr., Linda, John, Bobby, Andy, and Jesse.  Prudence was known for placing great importance on providing for her family and her homemaking abilities, and she also worked at the convalescent home in San Jacinto as a housekeeper for more than 20 years.
Prudence is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gilbert Ramos Sr., her brother, Gerald Clarke Sr., her parents, Jane and Lloyd Clarke, and her nephew, Joseph Liera.
Prudence is survived by her children, Gilbert H. Ramos Jr., Linda Jane Ramos, John H. Ramos, Bobby H. Ramos, Andy H. Ramos, and Jesse H. Ramos, one grandchild, Jonathan Ramos, her two sisters, Virginia Liera and Patricia Liera, and a number of nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

Services for Prudence Agnes Ramos will be held at Our Lady of the Snows, on the Cahuilla Indian Reservation in Anza, CA, on Saturday, September 24, 2016, with Mass at 10:00 a.m., a graveside service, and lunch to follow at the Cahuilla Tribal Hall. Services provided by Inland Memorial, previously Harford Funeral Home.
