Ariel Yasemin Watkins

July 15, 1994 - January 3, 2017

Our daughter, Ariel Yasemin Watkins (born July 15, 1994, Ottawa, Canada) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017, at San Antonio Regional Hospital, in Upland California, with family by her side. She suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest, resulting from an accidental overdose.

Ariel, you were taken from us way too soon. We will place one foot in front of the other as we slowly navigate your passing.  We understand your everyday life was challenging.  But we will most remember you for your beauty -- inside and out -- determination, intellect, and never-failing, ever-present sense of humor.  No matter the situation, you always had a ready laugh, a generous smile, and a hand to place inside of mine.  But your generosity was most evident in the way you shared three simple, powerful words --  'I love you.'  Almost every time we spoke.  As you depart this earth, and finally find peace in heaven, know that we will love you forever.  And we hold dear to us the knowledge that you loved us too.  Dad, Sierra and I will work hard to honor your spirit everyday of our lives.

We have and always will have two daughters in our family -- one here and one in heaven.  Love you and miss you dearly Ariel.  Rest peacefully.

Ariel is survived by her mother and father, Jim and Yasemin Watkins, and sister, Sierra.  Also by her grandmother Lillian Watkins, and extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada, and friends in California and beyond.
