Raymond
Leon Hornback was born February 5, 1942 in Lordsburg, NM and passed away
peacefully at his home on February 5, 2017, his 75th birthday.
He
worked for the Labor’s Union Local # 1184 in Riverside, CA. He had many hobbies like fixing small gas
engines, wood crafting and making homemade rootbeer. He had a backyard orchard where he planted and
cared for an assortment of fruit trees, grape vines and an annual vegetable garden. He raised chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and
goats for many years. He liked to listen to classic county music. Some of his favorite singers were George
Jones, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard to name a few.
He
is preceded by his father, Vernon, mother, Coretta (Tucker), two brothers,
Richard and Roger and one sister, Frances Coates.
He
met Rosita (Rosie) Liera, the love of his life, as a teenager at the Hemet
Packing Company on State Street in Hemet and they were married for 58
years. He leaves behind his wife, Rosita
(Rosie) Liera, five children, a son, Raymond Jr of Hemet, four daughters,
Rosalie Patke of Fort Bragg, CA, Laura (David) Short, Donna (Lawrence) Gibson
and Tina Gingras all of Hemet, seven grandchildren; Wynter Berlin of Fort
Bragg, CA; Craig Gibson, Richard Gingras, Naomi Gingras, Allie Gingras, Sheila Short
and Rachel Short all of Hemet, two great grandchildren, Brandon and Jacob Smith
of Fort Bragg, CA, three brothers, Carl, Frank and David.
