Glen Edward Wodetzki
May 11, 1934 – August 19, 2017
Glen Edward Wodetzki, age 83,
passed away August 19, 2017 in Redlands, California. Born May 11, 1934 in
Danville, IL, Glen was the son of Lewis E. and Evelyn G. (Six) Wodetzki.
According to his mother, he suffered scarlet fever as an infant which affected
his development, and she assured members of Glen’s family that he would not
live beyond his early 20s. However, none of this deprived Glen of the ability
to work. He maintained his own newspaper route as a teenager and worked for his
father at Ideal Alarm Company for a number of years. After the death of his
father in 1967, Glen moved to California with his mother in 1970, and he
remained in California the remainder of his life. After his mother died in 1978,
Glen moved into a group home where he remained until a few months before his
death. He worked regularly until he was no longer able, and he was always an
active member of his group home community. He was often the supervisor of his
housemates on outings and always helped to maintain order around the house. He
will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Glen survived
his brother Lewis and his sister Dorothy Rebenstorf. He is survived by his
brother Richard Wodetzki of Sebring, FL, sister Joan Brittingham of Loma Linda,
CA, sister Louise Cochran of Sun City Center, FL, eighteen (18) nieces and
nephews, and many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Glen is interred alongside
his parents at Greenwood Cemetery in Danville, IL.
