Charles (Carson) Potts

October 6, 1956 – April 26, 2018

After serving in the Army for two years, in 1979 Master Carson moved from New York to sunny California, where he started teaching Tae Kwon Do.  He was a 7th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a 5th degree black belt in Hap KI Do. Watching his students learn martial arts and gain confidence in themselves was his greatest reward. Many of his students looked up to him not only as their Tae Kwon Do Master, but as a father figure and confidant.

Master Carson had a great love for animals. He never hesitated to drop everything to help rescue an animal in need, once even crawling under a house to save a litter of puppies.

Memories of Master Carson will forever live in our hearts.

Judy Lynne Horn

March 8, 1939 – April 25, 2018

Our beautiful Wife, Mom, Gramma and Great Grandma, Judy Lynne Horn, passed away on April 25, 2018.  She died at home surrounded by her husband, her children, and their spouses, who were all by her side for the last days of her life, trying to provide the love and comfort to her that she had provided to them throughout their lives.

Judy was born in San Francisco, California on March 8, 1939.  She met her future husband, Baxter Horn, at Capuchino High School in San Bruno, California.  Judy and Bax were married on August 29, 1959.   Their marriage was filled with fun, football (Go Niners!), travel, celebrations, parties and great food and drink.  Judy was an amazing entertainer.  She was somehow able to throw a party complete with incredible food and cocktails, and yet never miss out on the fun with her friends, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Judy’s many delicious recipes have been shared with friends and family.  A meal that includes a “Judy Recipe” is always a guaranteed success.

After they were married, Judy and Bax worked together at Horn Pest Control in San Bruno, California. In 1965, they moved to Foster City, California, where they raised their children.  In 1980, they moved to the mountains in Pollock Pines, California, where they built the home of their dreams.  That home saw many White Christmases, summer parties, bunco games with friends, and celebrations of their grandchildren’s birthdays.  Judy and Bax lived in Pollock Pines for 33 years.  They enjoying living in the mountains and visiting Lake Tahoe regularly.  Judy owned the Poppy Patch, a clothing store she operated with two friends.  In 2012, Judy and Bax relocated to Menifee, California, where they were able to enjoy their great grandchildren who live nearby.

High school sweethearts Judy and Bax were married for almost 59 years, sharing a love of all things sports, games, gardening, travel and family.  Their love was never more apparent than in the past months, during which Bax provided care and comfort to Judy in ways that no one, not even him, believed possible.

Judy is survived by her husband Baxter Horn; daughter Andrea Meredith and her husband David; son David Horn and his wife Jill; five grandchildren (and their spouses): Allison Prario (Kevin), Jarret Thomas (Cassie), Brian Meredith (Krysteena), Collin Horn, Kaitlyn Arellano (Chris); seven great grandchildren; and her brother Kenneth Artru and his wife Nancy.

Our hearts ache at the loss of our Wife, Mom, Gramma, Great Grandma and Friend, but her fun loving spirit and love of a good party will be carried on in her memory.
