LaVerna Lee {Overstreet}
Levett
December 25, 1935 - April 24, 2018
LaVerna Lee {Overstreet} Levett, 82, of Perris, CA passed
away surrounded by her loving family on April 24, 2018. LaVerna was born in
Moundville, MO to Walter E. Overstreet and Alice R. Overstreet on December 25,
1935. She was a 1954 graduate of Liberal High School. She married John Albert “Jack”
Levett on July 19, 1958 in Topeka, KS. To this union they had three daughters
Kimberle Karen {Darrell} Rea, Sheila Renee’ {Steven} Spurling, and Jacqueline
Kaye Levett.
She was employed at Hallmark Production Center where she was
a card inspector and Scotch Dry Cleaners, Topeka, KS. She babysat in the
Liberal, MO area while her daughters were growing up and she cared for her
aging mother and her sister Ruth Temple until Ruth passed.
La Verna spent some of the happiest years of her life living
in California with her daughter, Jacqueline and grandson, Jordan. She attended the
Grove Christian Church in Riverside, CA.
LaVerna is survived by her daughters, eight grandchildren;
Bryan, Aimee, Mallory, Courtney, Carla, Dillon, Drake and Jordan, five
great-grandchildren and her little dachshund, Khloe. She was preceded in death
by her husband Jack {34} in 1966, her parents, siblings; Bonnie Blake, Robert
Overstreet, Ruth Temple, Walter E. Overstreet, Jr., Barbara Jo Ann Haskins, and
James Overstreet, as well as special nieces; Micki Haskins, Penny Temple, and
Candace Thomas.
The family would like to thank the Kaiser Permanente
Riverside Hospice for their loving care provided to their mother, our extended families
and friends.
Inland Memorial, Riverside, CA is handling arrangements. Family
graveside services will be held in Topeka, KS at Mt. Calvary Cemetery where she
will be laid to rest by her husband and her in-laws. Memorial gifts may be sent
to Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, 6165 Industrial Ave. Riverside, CA
92504, in memory of Ms. LaVerna Levett.
LaVerna loved her dogs, Prince, Romeo and especially her little wiener
dog, Khloe Kardachund. Khloe will miss all the people food that LaVerna would
sneak to her.
