Winifred Vinetta Burton

October 6, 1930 – May 8, 2018

Winifred Vinetta Burton was born October 6, 1930 in Kokomo, Indiana to Cedric and Julia Louks. She was married to James Lake and welcomed two children, John Alan Lake and Leigh Sheridan Lake. She was also married to Johnny Strader and welcomed son, Michael Gene Strader. She married John Burton on January 29, 1960 and welcomed a son, Donald Dee Burton.

Vinetta (she hated being called Winifred) was born and raised in Indiana where she learned accounting and worked as a Certified Public Accountant both in Indiana and Michigan. In 1969 she and John decided to move out of the suburbs and become full time farmers, eventually raising Charolais Cattle on a large farm in Homer, Michigan. Vinetta was a huge supporter of 4-H and ran an in-home ceramics business for 30 years. After John passed in 1997, Vinetta moved to California to be closer to her son Michael. She became a beloved member of the Lake Elsinore Gem and Mineral Society.

Vinetta was preceded in death by her husbands; and is survived by her daughter, Leigh Lake and sons John Lake, Michael Strader and Donald Burton.
