Sheila Hoffee

June 21, 1928 - June 2, 2018

Sheila Hoffee (nee Manning) passed away peacefully on June 2, three weeks before her 90th birthday. She was surrounded by those that loved her.

Sheila was born June 21st 1928 in Hampstead, England. She was the eldest daughter of Lil and Bert Manning. She was raised in England and attended Matlock College in the north of England. Sheila had two sisters, Mary who died in 1946 and Judy (John) Winkel.

In 1952 Sheila married Jack Hoffee an American Airman stationed in England. They subsequently moved to America with two children Michele (Jay) Bauguess and Lindy Hoffee. After assignments to Hawaii and Virginia they settled in Riverside, Ca.

Sheila owned and managed a very successful school in Riverside, Garden School, and over the years many students came back to the school to tell her how they appreciated the education they were given.

Jack passed away in 2010. The most important thing in Sheila’s life was family and she valued her family above all else. Sheila was an avid knitter and hand quilter. Many area babies were wrapped in her beautiful blankets. She loved crosswords and word puzzles.

She was the matriarch of our family and our hearts are heavy.

A celebration of life will be on June 23, 2018, 10:00 am at Sheila's house. Reception to follow
