Daniel Merlin Graff

July 10, 1958 - June 1, 2018

On June 1, 2018, Daniel Merlin Graff was reunited with the love of his life, his wife Margaret Ann Graff.

Daniel, who was born in Santa Monica, California in 1958, worked in his earlier years as a commercial lobster fisherman and in later years as a truck driver.

He enjoyed the open road, but it was meeting Margaret that gave his life the most meaning.  He was a towering gentle giant.  She lacked the height but was filled with compassion and love for others.   It was a perfect match.

Danny and Peggy, as they were known to family and friends, were married in 2001.
Together they supported each other for better and for worse, in sickness and in health, in their home in Colton, California.

Nearly two years after Peggy’s sudden passing and the day Danny died after an extended illness, Peggy’s daughter Jennifer Sparling noted:

They were made for each other, corny jokes, loved movies and TV, and generally never got tired of being around the other one.  It’s no wonder to me that he didn’t wait long to join her, how could they not be missing each other terribly?”

Danny is survived by his sister Nancy Graff Aidinian, brothers James Graff and Jeffrey (Erika) Graff, step-daughter Jennifer Sparling, step-granddaughter Arianna Thompson, nieces Dawn (Ben) Campbell and Pallas (Konstantin Bucherl) Aidinian, and grandnieces Tessa and Elle Campbell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Dianne Roehl and Merlin Leroy Graff, and his beloved wife Margaret Ann Graff who he lost unexpectedly in July 2016.

On Peggy’s first birthday after her passing in 2017, Danny wrote the following message:

Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife. Though she passed away last year her love for me and mine for her will last forever. I miss you so much Margaret Ann Graff and can't wait to rejoin you in the afterlife.”

They are together again and both are deeply missed.
