James Louis Carroll

October 4, 1956 - June 12, 2018

James Louis Carroll, 61, passed away at San Antonio Hospital in Upland on June 12, 2018.

He was born on October 4, 1956 at St. Mary's in Lynwood, California, the son of James Carroll and the late Phylis Carroll (Galbraith).  He was the oldest of 3 siblings, Daniel and Barbara Carroll.

He attended East LA City College and went on to graduate from Long Beach State.  He married Nancy Carroll in 1980 and had 3 children. They were married for 10 years.  He had a long successful career as General Manger selling cars.  James enjoyed golf, football and poker.  He was an accomplished poker player and in 2005, he competed twice and placed in the World Series of Poker.  He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to help those he loved.  He perfected the "Dad Joke" and would tell one any chance he got.

He is survived by his 3 children, Torry Carroll, James Tyler Carroll, Kia Williams, son-in-law, Mike Williams, his niece Ericka Fry and his only grandson, Ezra Scarbrough.  James loved his children and grandson immensely. Ezra often proclaimed that his Grandpa was his best friend.

The funeral service will be held on June 20th, 2018 at 2:30 pm. Viewing will start at 1:30pm until 2:30pm. It will be held at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery, 900 N Meridian Ave, Colton 92324.
