Rev. Frank Maitoza
August 7, 1937 - July 3, 2018
Rev. Frank Maitoza, retired minister with the Center for
Spiritual Living, passed away on July 3rd, 2018 in Hemet, CA. Born on August
7th, 1937, he was raised in Newport, Rhode Island and attended Rogers High
School, and as an alumni, made regular contributions to their Scholarship Fund.
He became a Registered Nurse in Stuart, Florida and after moving to California
worked at Scripps hospitals in San Diego county for 30 years. Always interested
in education, Rev. Frank received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from
Pepperdine University and his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
from United States International University to begin further work as a
therapist. After retiring, Frank obtained his 2nd Master’s Degree in
Consciousness Studies at Holmes Institute where he became an ordained minister.
He was called to serve a church in Sun City and later at the Hemet Center for
Spiritual Living. After a second retirement, he enjoyed writing articles on
positive living in the Clergy Corner of the Chronicle. He is survived by his
son, Joel Maitoza and brother, Victor Poisson.
A “Celebration of Life” memorial service will be held at the Center for Spiritual Living at 26805 Murrieta Road in Menifee, CA on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Center for Spiritual Living are appreciated.
