Lyle Alexander Beckley II

April 6, 1940 - October 24, 2018

Lyle Beckley, known to family and friends as "Jake" passed away on October 24, 2018 at the age of 78.

Jake was born to Lyle and Margaret Beckley on April 6, 1940 in Johnston, Pennsylvania. The family moved to California in 1942, establishing residence first in the San Antonio Heights area of Upland, and later Alta Loma, where Jake lived most of his life. He attended Upland public schools, including Upland High School, when it first opened. He graduated from Kaiwa High School in Hawaii after the family moved there in 1957. After graduation he joined the Army National Guard, and served for 2 years. He returned back to Alta Loma along with the family in 1963. Jake had several jobs, eventually retiring, after working 20 years, from Northrup-Gruman in 2002. In his retirement he pursued his love of classic cars, restoring a 1955 Chevy Truck and a 1957 Chevy Sedan. He also served on the board of his community HOA.

Jake, as the eldest son of the family of 10 children, is survived by sisters Patricia Fox, Margaret Watson, Pauline Stewart, and brothers Clark Beckley, Thomas Beckley, William Beckley, and Robert Beckley and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Stephen, and sister Susan.

A service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday November 3, 2018.
