James Robert Richmond
Jr.
November 28, 1956 - November 22, 2018
Our brother passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2018 after a valiant and courageous fight with cancer.
He was born on November 28, 1956 in Waterbury, CT to James and Cecile Richmond.
Jim attended Fountain Valley High School where he was the cool man on campus. He was student body president and played varsity basketball. In 1977 while riding a motorcycle on the 405-freeway going to work, he came upon a crash and did not have time to stop. After the accident, he spent the rest of his life overcoming many obstacles and challenges with physical limitations and with his speech.
Jim took great pride in the fact that he went to AA and was sober for over twenty-five years. He attended weekly meetings. He treasured the coins he earned.
His motto in life was “no problem” and he truly did exemplify this in everything he had to face.
He held a job for over twenty-five years at MJB moving company where he was a warehouse manager. He was forced to retire due to medical issues.
He lived in Orange County all his life until he was diagnosed with colon cancer. He then relocated to Riverside where he could be cared for by our sister and be treated at Loma Linda hospital.
Over the last few years he attended Harvest Christian fellowship.
Our brother was an inspiration to all of us and our hearts went out to him for all that he had to endure, but we know that he is at peace and reunited with our parents.
He is preceded in death by our parents, James and Cecile Richmond.
He is survived by five sisters and one brother and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
