Rito Boroque Magallanez Jr

July 15, 1940 - October 23, 2019

A grateful & spiritual man, loving Husband, devoted Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. His uncompromising
strength and endurance provided us all security, and encouragement. His devotion to his family and helping others was
and is unparalleled. Departed to be with the Lord on October 23, 2019. God granted him his wish of nonsuffering and
whispered, "Come with me." Your presence we will miss. Your memory we will treasure. Loving you always. Forgetting
you never. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I
will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Born July 15, 1940 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to the late Rito Sr. and Epifania Magallanez. He was the youngest of 9
children and lost his mother at the early age of 13. This loss is what gave him compassion for others. He left high school
early his senior year to support himself.
Rito spent 39 years with Kal Kan Foods Inc., an M&M Mars Corporation, as a Plant Shift Manager, retiring on
June 30, 1998. After a month of visiting the plant daily and asking for work, an Executive recognized his tenacious will
and offered him an entry level role. He worked diligently to climb the ranks and proved his dedication. He was
recognized with several awards such as; consecutive Years of Excellence in Attendance, Employee of the Year, and was
offered the first ever role as Ambassador for the company.
Rito resided in El Monte from 1964 to 2001. In 2001 he and his wife moved to Bloomington, CA. to be near his brothers
and sisters. He supported his son’s involvement in local youth sports by becoming an active coach, and an active band
parent. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and helped rebuild two Catholic Churches within his communities.
He enjoyed golfing, laughing, cowboy movies, and socializing.
Rito is survived by the love of his life, Dolores, of 55 years, his eldest sons; David of Bloomington CA, Leonard (wife,
Deborah) of Dublin CA., daughter Christina (husband, John) of Arcadia, CA., and youngest son Rudy of Bloomington, CA.
He was blessed with 7 Grandchildren; David Jr. (33) (wife, Elena) of Upland, CA., Meghan (27), Brendan (26), and Amber
(23) of Dublin CA, Joseph (23), Lauren (19), and Rudy Jr. (21), of Bloomington CA. He had 2 Great Grandchildren, Priscilla
(8) of Dublin, and Roman (6) of Upland, CA., and two more on the way; one in December of 2019 and one in April 2020,
and his sister, Alicia (husband, George) of El Paso, Texas.
Rito will be greatly missed by his family and friends and leaves a legacy of love, bravery and gratitude. We'll never forget
you. We miss you so much and we will see you in heaven.
A gathering for family and friends celebrating Rito’s life will be on Thursday November 07, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo
