Lupe Veloz Pedroza

December 26, 1942 - April 23, 2020

Lupe V. Pedroza , age 77, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Thursday April 23, 2020.

Lupe was born in San Bernardino, California on December 26, 1942. He attended San Bernardino city schools from elementary to high school. During these years Lupe loved to compete in sports. He attended  San Bernardino high school where he played varsity football, basketball and baseball .  He graduated SBHS in 1961.

Lupe married Rachel Madrid Soto October 12,1963. They celebrated 56 years of marriage in 2019 . They started their family in San Bernardino until moving  into their home in Rialto in 1968. They had four children Michele, Steven , Richard and Teresa.

Lupe was employed by San Bernardino County hospital where he preformed many duties in the laundry department and primarily drove the delivery truck. While working for  SBCH, Lupe developed many friendships and was always promoting recreational sports activities.  He played and coached numerous basketball and softball teams throughout the years. Although he liked team sports, his all-time favorite sport was handball. He was the man to beat on the #1 court at San Bernardino Valley College. He really loved it.

Lupe is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe E. Pedroza, Sebastiana V. (Pedroza)Roundtree and his brother Ernest. He is survived by his wife Rachel and 4 children Michele (Mike)Thompson, Steven (Norma)Pedroza, Richard(Nora)Pedroza

and Teresa (Martin) Zavala , 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
