Mary was born on August 19, 1946 in Wichita, KS to Charles F. and Verde Faye Donham. On November 29, 1963 she married Robert L. Yeager and after eloping they were married in a formal wedding ceremony at the Baptist church in Leon, KS on June 13, 1964. Together they raised two sons, Brian and Eric and a daughter, Theresa.
Mary looked at life as an adventure and she and Bob used
every opportunity to move to another state as a new journey of
discovery. In 1964 Mary and Bob moved to Huntsville, Alabama to work
at NASA in development of the Saturn V rocket used to land the Apollo module on
the moon. Mary was a meticulous typist and she was tasked with
typing the procedures and lists for the astronauts on light metal sheets for
the lunar landing.
Mary loved to sing, play guitar, draw and write poetry. She
loved to go on long walks to talk and observe nature and she loved road trips
and exploring obscure areas to see what hidden mysteries might be discovered.
She enjoyed mysteries, both in books and television shows, often determining
the culprit long before they were revealed. Mary was a very spiritual woman and
had a deeply grounded faith, which she shared with and encouraged in her
husband and her children. She was known for her kind and encouraging spirit as
well as her quick wit that she used to keep Bob and the kids on the straight
and narrow.
Mary was preceded in death by her father Charlie, her mother
Faye, her brother David and her grand-daughter Jessica. She is
survived by her husband Bob, her three children, Theresa, Brian and Eric and
his wife Gena, Mary's brother Chuck and her grandchildren, Brandon, Jason,
Ashley, Ezekiel and Abigail.
