It is with heavy
hearts that we announce the passing of Ralph A. Medina on Monday November 16th
2020 at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton CA. Ralph was born on
December 13th 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Colton. He is survived
by his wife Ruth of 67 years and children Mike (Melinda), Carmen (Gilbert),
Carol (Donald), Ruth Ann (Jose), James (Veronica), John (Marie) and Emily
(Mark). He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren
and six great great grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents Miguel
and Elodia Medina, sister Armida Arrieta, son Ralph C Medina, granddaughter
Maya Medina and great grandson Ruben Medina.
Ralph was a 1948
graduate of Colton Union High School. He was also an honored veteran of
the United States Army where he served from 1949-1952 during the Korean
conflict. After he served in the US Army, he was a proud owner of Ralph's
Auto Upholstery and Glass in Colton. Ralph was a prominent member of the
community where he also had many friends who would make rounds visiting him at
his shop. As he entered into his retirement in the 1990's he also enjoyed
volunteering and supporting local civic leaders and was known as the unofficial
Mayor of South Colton. He also helped raise his grandchildren and great
grandchildren along with chauffeuring his grandkids to school or sports
activities and was very supportive with their accomplishments. He was a
parishioner at San Salvador Catholic Church where he would frequently walk to
church with the love of his life. His motto was "Family is
Everything". Our dad was the life of the party and loves to
celebrate at every special occasion. He always made his daily calls to
his children and grandkids always wanting to know how the family was
doing. May the perpetual light shine upon him as we wait to see him and
rejoice in Heaven.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced at a later time.
