 Marlene McLean

May 01, 1941 - April 29, 2021

Marlene McLean, age 79, passed away peacefully at home in California on April 29th, 2021. After a long battle with her 3rd round of lung cancer, she passed away 2 days before her 80th birthday.

Marlene was born May 1, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. Together, she and her late Husband, Martin O. McLean had three children— Kelley, Marty and Scott. Martin passed away in 1996. Marlene worked as a Computer Typesetter starting at Chrysler Corp., eventually moving on and retiring from Tweddle Litho Co. She took exceptional pride in the work that she did. Marlene lived in Michigan her entire life until moving to California 3 years ago with her daughter. Marlene was a night owl, loved watching her soap operas, and listening to her favorite artist—Willie Nelson. Marlene also loved spending great lengths of time with her grandchildren. She was in fact the type of grandma everyone wished was their own. She always spoiled her grandchildren to no end, made sure they never left hungry and the door was always open for them to come over. Marlene also loved to travel and made multiple trips to Hawaii with friends, which she never stopped talking about. She enjoyed surfing the internet and reading the latest news on Facebook. She was more technologically savvy than most people her age and she made sure that was well-known.

Marlene is survived by her brother Charles Delier (Joyce) as well as her daughter Kelley and two sons, Marty (Jennifer) and Scott (Vicky). Marty and Jenn gave Marlene a beautiful granddaughter Makenna (11)  and Scott and Vicky gave Marlene 2 wonderful grandchildren, Damon (23) and Ambyr (22). Not only is she survived by her biological family members, Marlene also opened her heart  as a friend, mother, sister, and so many more titles to a multitude of people. She had this light that glowed so bright that just made people flock in her direction. Her presence was always known of and wanted in every situation. Her blonde spiked highlights could be spotted from miles away and her infectious laugh could be heard from two states over. She was cherished and loved by so many and will be terribly missed by all.

Marlene is to be cremated and laid to rest during the summer in a plot next to her late Husband. There will be a service announced in the coming months for those who would like to be in attendance.
