Gloria M. Guerrero
Gloria M. Guerrero, 86, died June 18, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones at the Kaiser Permanente Moreno Valley Medical Center in Moreno Valley, California. Gloria was born March 23, 1935 to Jesse Maynez and Alfred E. Guerrero and had four siblings, Rosie, Misty, David, and Vera. She was a proud and resilient woman of faith who grew strong from life’s challenges. Gloria was a licensed realtor and had a long career as an employee of Los Angeles County, where she eventually retired. She was an adventurous person who loved to experience life through eating delicious food, going to new places, and listening to and singing beautiful music. Gloria was always ready for the next new thing. She enjoyed the beach and sailing the Pacific Ocean and even successfully completed a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary sailing and seamanship course in 1989. Gloria pursued many learning opportunities and attended La Puente Valley Adult School studying psychiatrics and took finance and accounting classes at Premiere Schools in Culver City. She loved teaching and passing down her faith, knowledge gained through coursework, and life experience to everyone she knew. Those blessed enough to have learned from Gloria greatly benefited from her knowledge and care. Gloria was most proud of being the matriarch of a five-generation family, including: Her seven children and their respective spouses: (her first child, a daughter in heaven), Brenda(Richard), Joey (Martha), Tommy (Diana), Karen (Avo), David (Selva) and Ruby (Rene). 66 grandchildren: 27 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren Gloria also enjoyed close relationships with her siblings, their children, and countless other nephews and nieces across multiple generations. Her family remembers her as a generous and caring person who took care of her family, never forgot birthdays, and loved deeply. Most of her family remembers that she would sign every letter, note, and text message with “Love Jesus and Granny.” A private service will be held at Hermosa Cemetery (Inland Memorial) in Colton, California.
