Anastacia Pete Panarites

4/13/1927 - 8/31/2021

Anastacia Pete Panarites, 94 of Moreno Valley, California passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 with his family by his side. Pete was born on April 13, 1927, in Clifton, Colorado . He is preceded in death by his father Peter Anastacia Panarites of Argos, Greece, his mother Bessie (Church) of Missouri, brother Robert, sisters Constance (Crowe) and Christina (Mead), wife Maureen (McCue) of Quincy, MA, and sons Michael and Lee (Southmayd). He is survived by his children Donna (Digges), Donald and his wife Melynda (Southmayd), and Shiela and her husband Chad (Bishop), as well as many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Pete served in the United States Navy, the Coast Guard, and the Merchant Marines during World War II, and the Korean War. Although he had many vocations, he spent most of his career as a Teamster, running a shop and working on Diesels. Pete became like family to all those who knew him. He loved to help people, and prided himself in being able to fix anything. When he was raising his children he was Uncle Pete to everyone, and once he proudly became a grandparent, he was everyone’s Grandpa Pete. Pete was an avid sportsman that enjoyed watching his grandkids, and their friends play ball. He loved camping, fishing, traveling, and being with his kids and grandkids. He rode a motorcycle well into his mid 80s, and never stopped doing the things he loved. He was active and approached life with all the zest and grit he had been known for until the day he passed.

Memorial services honoring this incredible man will be held at the Mission Chapel at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery, 900 Meridian Street, Colton, CA at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2021. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 P.M., at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington Street, in Colton.
