FERNANDO LOYA
August 12, 1963 – July 28, 2021
Fernando “Nano” Loya, 57 of San Bernardino, California, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on July 28, 2021. He was born in San Bernardino, California on August 12, 1963 to the late John B. Loya and Guadalupe Loya. Fernando fell in love and married Charlene Lewis and was happily married for 3 years. He was a Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle and most importantly a child of God.
Fernando graduated from San Gorgonio High School and attended San Bernardino Valley College where he obtained his Associates Degree. Fernando was such a positive minded man, with a heart of gold, who could light up a room with his smile alone. A man after God’s own heart, he was spiritually gifted with the knowledge of scripture and knew the bible inside and out. He loved God’s word so much that he could recite the perfect scripture for any occasion. Though not a tall man in stature, his personality and big heart could stand out in any crowd. He had a laugh that could be heard in a stadium of thousands; a laugh unmatched unless he was surrounded by his brothers and sisters. Fernando, who overcame all odds and hardship in life, became a role model to his family by setting the standard and becoming the first to achieve a college degree. A truly talented man who became an amazing self-taught artist, a brilliant poet, and a fulltime jokester whose jokes would only make him laugh but would make you smile in the process. He loved karaoke and would sing every chance he could. Fernando is a big part of the Loya Family and will be missed with heavy hearts all around. When it’s time to be reunited, he will for sure be waiting at the gates of heaven with that smile and laugh we all know and love.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Loya, his two children, Fernando Loya and Jasmine Loya, his mother, Guadalupe Palacios, siblings, Patricia Lopez, Lucy (Dean) Kelley, Rosemary Loya, Andrew Loya, Tina (Bobby) Dean, and several grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Fernando Loya is preceded in death by his father, John Loya Sr., his brothers, John, George and Frank Loya, and Joe Lopez.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Hermosa Cemetery, 900 North Meridian Ave., Colton, CA. Mission Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Burial 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
