Helen Frances Best of Canyon Lake, California passed away August 10, 2021, at Alondra Board and Care. Helen was born January 6, 1928, in Sacramento, California. She attended San Jose State University and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University Sacramento. Helen was a member of Sigma Kappa National Sorority. She was always active, loving all sports and outdoor activities. Helen was a cheerleader in high school and her first year in college. While attending college she met and married her husband Howard Best on June 17, 1948, in Carson City, Nevada. They had one son, Michael.
Helen was an educator, teaching elementary school in Sacramento and San Diego for 25 years. When she and Howard moved to Canyon Lake, Helen began her own private tutoring business and taught reading and language arts to students the grades first through fifth. She enjoyed playing bridge and golf and was excellent at both. Helen also loved baseball, her favorite team being the Dodgers. She and Howard had season box seats for the Lake Elsinore Storm and were Storm Booster Club members for many years.
Helen is survived by her son Michael, granddaughter Courtney and many loving nieces, nephews and long-time friends.
