KENNETH EUGENE NIELSEN

1944 - 2021

Kenneth “Ken” Nielsen, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend - died from complications of Lewy Body Dementia on August 7, 2021, with family by his side.  Ken grew up in Iowa, and was a decorated Marine Corps veteran in Viet Nam, receiving a purple heart on July 4, 1967.

Ken attained his accounting degree from California State University Los Angeles in 1972 and built a successful accounting and property management career in several savings & loans, property management firms, and non-profit social service agencies.

His love of both the ocean and mountains drew him to the enjoyment of boating, scuba diving and hiking the US National Parks.

Ken was active in his community and he will be missed by the many friends he made over the years. Ken is survived by his wife Deborah, son Collyn (Lisa), daughters Andrea and Laura (Marc), five grandchildren, sister Judy (Ron), and Maggie, his beloved Golden Doodle.
