Alicia Renterias Montoya entered into rest on December 22, 2021 in San Bernardino, CA. She was 90 years old. Alicia was a true Californian: born on September 21, 1931 in Corcoran to migrant farm workers Gustavo and Loreto Renterias, raised in Brawley, resided in Rialto for over 50 years, and ultimately, San Bernardino.
Alicia is preceded in death by her parents; sister Elena Sandoval; 4 infant siblings; daughter Marta Luna; sons Ramon Montoya III and Richard Montoya; 3 grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Gustavo Renterias; sister Olga Castaneda; son Robert Montoya; daughters Magdalena Arias, Monica Bray and Margaret Sanchez; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Alicia will be remembered for her endless source of strength and devotion to her family. She had a great sense of humor and creative spirit. She loved music, singing and gardening. Her love of family was shared through her homemade tortillas that helped to create the warmth around her table.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Hermosa Gardens in Colton, CA.
