Andrea San Miguel

Andrea San Miguel, 89, of Grand Terrace, California, passed away on Sunday, January 9th. She was also called "Andi" by her friends and family. She was born in Hawes, California on February 9th, 1932 to Saturnino and Paula Mata, of Barstow, California.
She was married to Guadalupe Jr. 66 years, at the time of his death, on May 1st, 2020. Their wedding took place on January 30th, 1954 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, in Barstow, California. She took pride in being a good wife and mother to six children.
She graduated from Barstow High School, in 1952, where she was a member of the Spanish Club and sang in the choir. She was also an avid reader from the time she learned to read. She was active in the Immaculate Conception Church, when she lived in Colton, where she was in the Ladies Guild and taught CCD classes. She was also a volunteer mom for the Brownies, Girl Scouts, Carl Rimbaugh Girl's Softball and her children's school classrooms for Colton School District. She was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer, in Grand Terrace, for 35 years.
Andrea is survived by her son Anthony (Diane) San Miguel of St George, Utah and their children, Mary and Dean; Arnold (Lily) San Miguel of Rancho Cucamonga, California and their daughter, Amanda; Ann Marie (Edward) Aboytes of San Bernardino, California and their son/stepson Samuel Miranda; Annette San Miguel-Lafkas of Ontario, California; and Arleen "Deanie" (Jay) Mercado of Ogden, Utah. Also mourning her death are her brothers, Daniel, Louie and Richard Mata and her sister Maria Valenzuela. And the many who loved her, including nieces, nephews, and step-grand/great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Arthur San Miguel, her sister Ofelia Cordova, parents Saturnino and Paula Mata, and son-in-law Phillip Lafkas.
A Rosary will be said at 10:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m. and the mass at 11:00 a.m.- noon on February 8th at Christ the Redeemer, Grand Terrace California, followed by the burial at 1:00 p.m. at Hermosa Arden Cemetery (Inland Memorial Mortuary) in Colton California. Mask required indoors.
