Robert N. Smith 

November 8, 1929 - April 22, 2022

Robert Neil Smith, “Smitty”, 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep in his home on April 22, 2022.  He was born on November 8, 1929 in Walkerville, Essex County, Ontario Canada  and is survived by his two grandsons, Michael & Steven Chanez.  Smitty’s wife of 33 years, Alice Antonia Lopez Smith, passed away in September of 2010.  The two met when they both worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company where he was a lineman and she, an operator.  They moved from Santa Ana, CA to Riverside, CA in 1994 to be closer to their grandchildren.  Smitty served in the US Air Force and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal during his service in the Korean War.  He is proceeded in death by him parents, Robert Alexander Smith and Muriel Beatrice O’Neil Smith, and his siblings, Barbara Jean, John Paul, Christopher George and David Francis.  A Burial Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Riverside National Cemetery at 10:30 am.  Though a quiet and gentle soul, “Pa” as the grandkids called him, will be missed by all who were a part of his life.
