Adelyn Dorothy Powers

 January 15, 1941-May 15, 2022

Adelyn Dorothy “Honey” Powers, age 81 of Hemet, Ca, passed away May 15, 2022 after spending her last few days surrounded by her loving family.

Adelyn was born in Altadena, Ca on January 15, 1941 to parents Adeline Dorothy Victor Dunbar and Franklin Oliver Dunbar.

Adelyn attended St. Hyacinths Academy and San Jacinto High school, graduating in 1958. She was married to Bob Dean Powers for 15 years having three children Kelly, Robert and Dana. Adelyn was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was always their biggest fan and number one supporter.

In her own time she loved to play golf and tennis,along with supporting the Ramona pageant as a makeup artist and spanish dancer. Adelyn loved to care for, ride, show her horses. She shared her love of these hobbies with her kids and grandchildren.

In 1980 she became a full time caregiver to her son, a job that she carried out with great pride and skill for the rest of her life. She always believed that he could accomplish and overcome any obstacle he might encounter due to his injury, and she was always by his side to remind him so.

In 1984 she married Warren Ross. Together they took countless road trips spending endless hours together in their favorite places along the way from California to Montana. It was just the two of them until they got their best friend and companion, Sparky, a spoiled yellow lab whom they both loved dearly.

Adelyn is survived by daughter Kelly and husband Tom, son Robert, and daughter Dana and husband Jeff. Grandsons Justin and Travis, and granddaughters Tori and Tiffany. As well as great grand children Scarlet and Luke.

Predeceased by husband Warren Ross, brothers Frank and Butch Dunbar, and best friend Sparky.
