RICHARD STANLEY DAVIES 
September 30th, 1932 - January 17th, 2023

Richard Stanley Davies, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 30, 1932 and passed to his heavenly home, January 17, 2023
Richard was the only son of Charles and Florence Davies. He was raised in a Christian home with 4 sisters, Joyce, Norma, Gwen and Carol. Two of his sisters have preceded him in death
Richard attended Crane Technical School in Chicago, where he was known as "Stanley". After graduating from High School he began using his given name, "Richard" and was also known as "Rich" to good friends and family for most of his life
Richard met the love of his life, Florence Ann Conrod, at a church function. They were married on December 19, 1952. Rich and Flo would have celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary this past December. Florence preceded Richard in death only 7 months prior to his own graduation to heaven
Soon after marriage in 1952, Richard proudly served his country, after being drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, where their first son, Daniel was born. Arriving back in the United States, Richard and Florence had 2 more sons, Donald and Dave
Rich received his training in electronics at DeVry Institute in Chicago. He passed an FCC examination and received a First Class Radio Telephone Operator's License. After moving to Southern CA, Richard began his electronics career with Zenith Radio Corporation and then North American Aviation. He began his long career with Beckman System's Division in 1957, after Florence drove to Beckman picked up an application and said, "here... fill this out"! Richard began his Beckman career with a title of Advanced Electronics Technician. In 1958, Richard began working on DVM Development. From a 1961, Review, "A thoroughly competent technician doing an excellent job". In the 1960's, Richard was promoted several times and in 1972, he was promoted to Engineering Designer for Custom Products. His 1973, review was outstanding and spoke directly to his ability as "Super Tech", which he was commonly referred to by bosses and coworkers: "It is generally accepted by all key personnel on the DVOM Project that its success was very largely due to Rich's knowledge and expertise!" In the early 1990's, Rich was promoted and transferred to the Quality Engineering Department as an Associate QA Engineer. "Whenever our production technicians run into a circuitry problem, Rich is the person they consult for help". 
Richard and Florence had servant's hearts and spent their lifetime serving God. Richard served as a Trustee as well as helping several churches with building programs. The couple was always stepping up and lending a helping hand with social activities and they were constant fixtures in every church they attended
One of Richard's most endearing qualities was his ever-present sense of humor. He had a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile for family and friends that will be missed. by all who knew him. Richard enjoyed hobbies such as woodworking and also enjoyed his life-time career of electronics as a hobby as well. He loved to "tinker in the garage" and spent many hours doing just that! Rich frequently invented some kind of electronic apparatus out of surplus parts. He was a expert builder and even helped his youngest son, Dave rebuild their home after losing their original home in a fire
Richard is survived by 3 sons, Daniel (Kathy), Donald (Barbara) and Dave (Barbara), 2 sisters, Gwen and Carol, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations honoring Richard can be made to Samaritan's Purse.
