In Loving Memory of Jack: A Life of Love and Dedication
John M. Eckman, Jr. (Jack)
12/27/38 - 8/4/23
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my beloved father Jack's passing on Friday. As we mourn his loss, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible life he lived and the love he shared with all of us.
For 61 years, Jack's love for my mother Suzanne was unwavering and profound. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to commitment, support, and understanding. They were an inspiration to all who knew them, showing us the true meaning of love and partnership.
One of the many ways Jack showed his love and support was through his involvement in my figure skating career. He was always there on the sidelines, cheering me on, and giving me the strength and encouragement to pursue my dreams. I will forever cherish the countless hours he spent volunteering for our figure skating club, especially the time he dedicated to building and painting props for our shows alongside Mr. Wagenhoffer and other devoted parents. His dedication was unparalleled, and his impact on the skating community will be remembered by all.
Jack had a passion for sports, and some of his fondest memories revolved around his love for UCLA Lakers Basketball and the Harlem Globe Trotters. He enjoyed the thrill of watching games and being a part of the spirited atmosphere. Additionally, he had a soft spot for horse racing and loved spending time at Santa Anita Race Track, following all the famous jockeys and horses. These were moments he cherished and shared with those he loved.
As he embarks on his journey to the heavens, Jack will be joyously reunited with his parents, MA & Pop Pop, his sister Beverly, and our dear dogs Peanuts, Duffy, and Winky. Their love and presence will continue to live on in our hearts.
In this time of grief, let us also celebrate the joyous spirit that Jack brought into our lives. His laughter, warmth, and kindness touched us all and made every moment spent with him special. We are grateful for the love he shared and the memories he created.
Rest In Peace my dear Daddy. Your love and legacy will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
Aloha and A Hui hou,
Jennifer
Jack is survived by his wife Suzanne, his two daughters Jennifer & Wendy, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
