February 24, 1950- April 25, 2024

Dan was a retired consultant of Planned Giving at the time of his passing. Dan was born in Illinois and served in the Salvation Army with his parents. Dan began his career in the Salvation Army after graduating from Asbury College in Kentucky. He served until he believed God had another path for him to walk. He began as a fundraiser and came to California to work for Harvey Mudd College in the early 80s. He then served as a planned giving officer for the House Ear Institute (LA), Casa Colina Hospital (Pomona), Cal Poly Pomona College (Pomona) and Emanate Health. He also worked as a consultant at various times during his career, including the last few years. Dan loved to work and be busy and was an active member for many years at the Pomona Vineyard and prior to that Chaparral Heights Church. Dan’s favorite activity in church was Servant Evangelism.

Dan lived in Claremont, Pomona, and Upland for almost 35 years. He was. He loved tactics, strategy, Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, the books of C.S. Lewis and Edgar Rice Burrows.  He was an avid gardener when he could be and enjoyed bringing things from tiny seeds to large flourishing plants.

Dan’s wife Carol greeted him when he arrived in Heaven. He is survived by his two children, Caroline Joy and Daniel Jr, and grandson, William as well as nephews and nieces. Services will be held at Pomona Vineyard (2801 N. Towne Ave, Pomona CA) on May 17, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
