Barbara Taylor 

April 2nd, 1941 - October 2nd, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of our mother Barbara (Melick) Taylor,

who was taken from us far too soon in a tragic car accident on October 2, 2024. She was born

on April 2, 1941 in Hartford City, Indiana to Albert and Neva Melick. She is survived by her

children, Kenneth (Joann) Taylor, Debra (Todd) Taylor, and Tracie (David) Brown, eleven

grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Robbin

Taylor.

She attended Stormont-Vail Nursing school in Topeka, Kansas graduating in 1962. She started

her nursing career in California in 1966. She worked at several local hospitals, including San

Antonio Regional Hospital where she retired in 2004. Her greatest joy was her family. She

spent her retirement enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her memory will forever live in the hearts

of those who knew her.
