In Loving Memory of Alice Maria Pust

March 12, 1940 – December 26, 2024

Alice Maria Pust, a beloved mother, grandmother, and talented artisan of pastry, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Riverside County, California, at the age of 84.  Born on March 12, 1940, in Gorizia, Italy, Alice was the cherished daughter of Victor and Pjerina Roccoli.

Alice’s journey was one of courage, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. In Slovenia, she honed her skills as a pastry chef, delighting all with her creativity and precision. Her life took a bold turn in 1968 when she and her late husband of 40 years, Edward Joseph Pust, immigrated to the United States, seeking new opportunities. Settling in Ontario, California, Alice brought her expertise to her work as a cake decorator, where her artistic talent and attention to detail became a source of joy and celebration to many in her community.

Above all, Alice found her greatest joy in her family. She is survived by her loving children:

Karmen Slezak, married to James Slezak of Middle River, Maryland and their daughter Chelsea Kater and grand-son-in-law Dylan Gleadall of Burbank, CA.

Genie Keenan, married to Patrick Keenan, and their sons Nolan, Nathan, and Nicholas Keenan of Eastvale, California.

Eddie J. Pust, married to Jacquelyn Pust, and their daughters McKayla Pust, Julia Pust and Jordyn Silveira.

Alice was preceded in death by her infant son, Borut Mario Pust, whose memory she carried in her heart throughout her life, and her devoted husband, whose partnership and love shaped her life’s journey.

Alice’s legacy is one of warmth, resilience, and boundless love. Her stories, laughter, and beautifully crafted pastries will remain cherished memories for her family and friends. Her life’s work in the kitchen, whether creating cakes or nurturing her loved ones, was a testament to her creative talent and dedication.

Alice Maria Pust will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a source of love and inspiration. May she rest in eternal peace. Her family will celebrate her life in a private service.
