Deborah Jacqueline Wangstad
July 4th, 1959 - July 4th, 2025
Deborah (Deb) Jacqueline Wangstad, age 66, passed away at her home in Anza, CA July 4th, 2025.
She was born July 4th, 1959 in Hennepin County, Minnesota, and was adopted by Wesley and Jacqueline Wangstad. She grew up with one brother and later in life was able to find her biological siblings.
Deb is survived by her son Jan-Michel Wangstad of Jamestown, ND and four grandchildren; Jaiden, Ariah, Brytin and Kiana Wangstad all of Bagley, MN.
Deb was a true patriot through and through--fiercely independent, proud of her country, and always the first to stand for what she believed in.
But beyond her patriotic spirit, Debbie was someone who brought light and color into the lives of everyone she met. An incredible artist, she had a gift for seeing the beauty in the world -- and then sharing it through her paintings.
Her love for animals and nature was a thread that ran through her entire life. Whether she was surrounded by pets, hiking in the great outdoors, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a paintbrush in hand, Deb was most herself when she was connected to the natural world.
You couldn't miss her in a crowd. She was often spotted in a cowboy hat-complete with a feather-looking every bit the free spirit she was. And if you talked to her for even a moment, you felt it: people were drawn to her warmth, her humor, and her fearless authenticity.
Deb was a steel horse cowgirl and loved her Harleys. She didn't just watch life go by-she lived it boldly, unapologetically, and with deep compassion for others. To know Deb was to be inspired-to laugh a little louder, to care a little deeper, to paint your own life with bold colors and an open heart. She may no longer be with us in body, but Deb's spirit lives on-in every stroke of a paintbrush, in every act of kindness toward an animal, in every open sky that stretches wide and wild, just the way she loved it.
