Our hearts are heavy as we share the passing of Martina Calderon, a woman whose love touched every corner of our lives. Martina had a spirit that made people feel safe, welcomed, and understood. She was kind, funny, sweet, caring—and she had a way of bringing comfort just by being near. Her smile could lift a heavy day, and her words always seemed to come at the exact moment you needed them.
Martina found joy in the simple, beautiful things of life—watching I Love Lucy, her favorite movies, and the novelas she loved so much. She enjoyed her favorite foods like chile relleno, beef taquitos, menudo, and bondigas, especially when shared with her family. Los Jarritos was her favorite spot to eat, a place filled with memories and laughter. She loved the colors lavender, navy blue, burgundy, and dark green—colors as warm and gentle as she was.
She enjoyed shopping, eating out, and playing her favorite game, LoterĂa—a tradition she cherished and passed down to her grandchildren. To them, she wasn’t just Grandma; she was warmth, joy, and the heart of every family gathering.
Martina leaves behind the people she loved most: her husband Steven, her sons David and Anthony, and her daughter Elaine. She was a proud grandmother to Katelyn, Nathan, Jaylene, Aaliyah, and Leilani—her five precious grandchildren who brought her so much happiness.
But above all, the greatest thing about Martina was her love. She loved her family deeply, fiercely, and without limits. She raised her children to be strong, to be united, and to always be there for one another—lessons that will live on long after this day.
Mom, thank you for being our strength, our comfort, and our home. Thank you for every lesson, every hug, every laugh, and every moment of love you gave us. You will always be with us, in our hearts and in the ways you taught us to love.
Fly high, Mom. May you rest in peace.
