Jane Pina, age 75, passed away on January 9, 2016 in Riverside California.
Carolyn was born on May 25, 1940 in Taunton, MA. The daughter of Anthony Ambers
& Catherine Lima Ambers, she being the 5th child of their 15 children. (12
girls & 3 boys) She was raised and educated in Boston MA. She married in
1962 and had 7 children. She divorced in 1975 and successfully raised her 7
children. She was a true master of many trades: a Tobin Bridge Toll Collector,
a U.S. Postal worker, Boston Mayor Kevin White’s receptionist, an ITOA Taxi Cab
Driver and she worked as a laborer with Turner Construction Co. for 10 years.
She spent her retirement years living with her son Anthony, his wife Donna and
their two daughters. They lived in Hawaii from 1990-1993 then they moved to
California. She had several talents that brought her joy: Sewing, Singing,
Dancing & Cooking...but her most treasured pleasures were her
Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren & being a Foster Mom. Those left to
cherish her memory include her 8 children; Richard V. Pina, Joyce E. Pina,
Anthony L. Pina, Deserie Davenport-Walker, Derek M. Pina, Vincent M. Pina,
Cathy Campos & Rashawn Ambers. Carolyn’s siblings; Marie Morgan Smith, Jean
Lemore Robnson, Pricilla Ambers, Jacqueline Dias, Helen Ambers, William Ambers,
Raymond Ambers, Kathy Fisher, & Doreen Ambers. Carolyn’s Daughter-in-law’s;
Donna Moultrie Pina, Terri Shoates Pina, Angela Maservey Pina and her
Son-in-law E. Felix Walker. Carolyn’s Godchildren; Erica Sousa & Nancy
Robinson. Carolyn has 22 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 54 Nieces and
nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her son Ralph J. Pina, Jr., and her
siblings; Shirley Ann Ambers, Geraldine Ambers, Diane Ambers, Paul Ambers &
Sharon Ambers. Memorial service will be performed at Mission Chapel/Hermosa
