February 18, 1945 - February 28, 2016

Larry Richard Guthrie Born in Richmond, Indiana, passed away Feb, 28th at the age of 71. He had been in ill health for several months. Larry was the son of Dale P. and Helen M. (Nelson) Guthrie. They are both deceased along with his brother James D. Guthrie. California beckoned to the family in 1954 where they established roots. He graduated from Thousand Oaks High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps (Viet Nam Vet) 1966-1968. In 1970 he moved to Hemet, joining family, and graduated from Mt. He was also an entrepreneur and owned several ad agencies through the years. He loved to write and was drafted to help with the San Jacinto Valley - Past and Present history book. This promoted his interest in valley history and he created Hemet Review on Facebook where he spent hours posting his research and old pictures. He was a devoted, loving, compassionate son, brother and uncle who will be sadly missed. He leaves his sisters Linda Reid, Mary Allred and Peggy “Elsie” Bragg along with his niece Melinda Gutierrez and nephews John Allred; John Robert, Paul and Timothy Reid; James Dale Guthrie, Jr; and Gerald and Jan Eva Via.
