Larry Richard Guthrie

Larry
Richard Guthrie Born in Richmond, Indiana, passed away Feb, 28th at the age of
71. He had been in ill health for several months. Larry was the son of Dale P.
and Helen M. (Nelson) Guthrie. They are both deceased along with his brother
James D. Guthrie. California beckoned to the family in 1954 where they
established roots. He graduated from Thousand Oaks High School and served in
the U.S. Marine Corps (Viet Nam Vet) 1966-1968. In 1970 he moved to Hemet,
joining family, and graduated from Mt. San Jacinto College with a BS degree.
Larry worked for Motor Rim & Wheel, Beneficial, Brubaker & Culton, and
did sales for several companies. He was also an entrepreneur and owned several
ad agencies through the years. He loved to write and was drafted to help with
the San Jacinto Valley - Past and Present history book. This promoted his
interest in valley history and he created Hemet Review on Facebook where he
spent hours posting his research and old pictures. He was a devoted, loving,
compassionate son, brother and uncle who will be sadly missed. He leaves his
sisters Linda Reid, Mary Allred and Peggy “Elsie” Bragg along with his niece
Melinda Gutierrez and nephews John Allred; John Robert, Paul and Timothy Reid;
James Dale Guthrie, Jr; and Gerald and Jan Eva Via. He also leaves 10 grand
nieces and nephews.
