Melvin
“Howard” Wilson, 76 The youngest of five children, Howard was born June 14,
1939 in Jamestown, Tennessee. He entered into Heaven’s gates on Friday, May 27,
2016. Howard spent most of his life living in Muncie, Indiana. He graduated
from Wapahanie High School in 1957
and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964.
Upon his return Howard was hired by the
Muncie Fire Department were he dedicated 22 years to public service until his
retirement in September 1990. Howard was good at just about everything. He
owned and operated a mechanic shop on the corner of 18th and Wolfe, and took over
Cunningham’s Market, on West Howard Street, when Mr. Cunningham was elected
Mayor of Muncie in 1976. Howard was a skilled and intuitive musician and loved
bluegrass and country music. He played several instruments; his favorite by far
was the guitar. Howard treasured his fishing trips to Wisconsin and Minnesota
with his buddies in the fire department. Howard spent his last years of
retirement living in Riverside, California Howard was preceded in death by his
father: James Wilson, mother: Wonnie Beaty-Boatwright, brothers: Harold and Dee
Wilson, sister: Loma Fazio and granddaughter Tracy Pinkston. He is survived and
lovingly remembered by his daughter: Tamme Wilson-Pinkston, granddaughter:
Stacy Pinkston, sister: Aleta McAndrew, several great grandchildren, nieces and
nephews and many close friends. We will miss you Howard – “Til we gather in
heaven’s bright city and meet on that beautiful shore.”

10:00 a.m., at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery, 900 N. Meridian Ave., Colton, CA 92324.
