Donna Marlene Shipley

Donna Marlene Shipley, age 64, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Sunrise Senior Center in Riverside, CA. Born in Indianapolis, IN and raised in Southern California, she was proud to be the fourth child of ten (Sandy Maddis, Marsha DeWees, Linda Zerbel, Rick Krebs, Daryl Krebs, Leon Krebs, Robin Randels, Mark Krebs, and Rene O’Mahoney) born to Maxine and Charles Krebs. Just shy of seventeen years old, she married Raymond John Shipley and, after having helped her parents with her younger siblings and her older siblings with their children, she waited ten years to have children of her own: James Ely Shipley, Raymond Earl Shipley, and Diane Marie Salgado. She was an extraordinarily loving mother, who raised her kids with values guided at heart by compassion. She loved nothing more than good cheer, to sing and dance, whether as a child with her sisters as they washed dishes, at holiday parties as her brothers played guitar and bongos, or rocking her grandbabies, Aurinia and Aris Shipley. While a good singer in her own right, those who had the fortune to know Donna will remember her open heart, most often expressed in the clear music of her laughter.
