Aguedo D. De Guzman, Jr. of Riverside California, 82, born March 24, 1934 and died October 18, 2016 at the Providence Mt. Rubidoux Convalescent due to cardiopulmonary arrest.
Also known to others as manong Jun, he is a devoted husband who suffered from a stroke paralyzing half his body soon after his wife passed away in May, 2012.  His wife To Quy Phuong (Maria), was diagnosed with a bowel cancer since '2006.  He has cared and accommodated his wife tirelessly ensuring that she takes her medication, taking her to the hospital for her treatments, provide support and comfort at a difficult times.  He left behind his children (in Order) Sophie, George, Teresa, Harold, Gloria & Eugene.  Not to forget the grandchildren (too many to mention) 13 grandsons & 9 granddaughters. Also with 5 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters, close friends and relatives.
He has endured pain and depression through his 4 years stay at the convalescent.  Being immobilized, unable to perform most activities being offered and socializing with fellow patients.  First couple of years was good when he participates and is active but it then took it's toll and has decided to give-up.  This can also be a combination of loneliness due to his kids being far apart and finds it difficult to visit.  Thank goodness for Harold, Eugene, Gloria & Sophie who has made effortless time to visit and provide his needs.  Unfortunately for George & Teresa who lives miles apart in Australia and visiting is sometimes difficult.

He will lay to rest together with his beloved wife at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Palmdale California

He Only Takes the Best

God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him
and whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes "the best".
