Marlene Zenesky

September 13, 1935 - October 3, 2019

Marlene Carol Zenesky (nee Geyer) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
October 3, 2019 after suffering a fatal heart attack. She was 84 years old and a
long time resident of Rialto, California..

Marlene will be most remembered for her faith, concern and aid to the less
fortunate, love of animals, her intelligence and boundless creativity.

She will be fondly remembered by her spouse of 57 years, Fred Zenesky (Rialto,
California); sons Edmond Peter (Port Richey, Florida) and Jeffrey Patrick
(Redlands, California). Her middle son, Michael Andrew (Bellingham, Washington)
passed away in 2012. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Zenesky
(Redlands, California); Granddaughter, Heather Zenesky (Michigan); Great-
grandson; Cole Zenesky and her Sister and best friend, Judy Schultz (Rialto,
California).

Marlene was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio by her parents Peter and
Margaret Geyer. Years later Margaret would remarry Judy’s father, Howard
Schultz. Marlene was a highly intelligent child and a prodigy dancer.
Unfortunatly, her dreams of becoming a professional dancer came to an abrupt
end at the age of eleven being the victim of a near fatal car accident.

She married at the age of 18 and started a family right away. She always said that
one of the best parts of her life was raising and watching her sons grow up.

Her chronic health issues always prevented her from long term professional goals
but she was always able to find outlets for her creativity. Some of these
opportunities were using her graphic art skills to design logos for Cleveland
companies, designing the library for the local elementary school, being a

community ombudsperson for a social work agency that identified impoverished
families in an effort to provide assistance and gathering clothing to be distributed
to the Navajo in Arizona.

For the last 15 years, Marlene was a housebound invalid and was unable to walk
due to her problematic prosthetic hips. Undaunted, she would always try to
make the best of a bad situation. She spent much time praying for the needs of
her family, friends and even those she would hear about on the evening news.

Through all of her suffering she never lost her belief in God’s purpose and plan. If
asked, that is probably what she would like everyone to remember about her.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at The Mission Chapel in
Hermosa Gardens Cemetery. 900 N. Meridian Avenue, Colton, California from
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A graveside ceremony will be held promptly at noon on
the 24 th at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
A Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 27 th at 10:00 a.m. at Fontana
Community Church. 8316 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, California.

Everyone is invited to attend these events to say goodbye to our beloved
Marlene.
