Toni Marie Davis

August 9, 1941 - July 16, 2020

Antoinette (Toni) Marie (Janiszeski) Davis

Antoinette Janiszeski was born August 9, 1941, in her grandparent’s home in Marble Township near Canby MN to Sophie (Otto) Janiszeski. She was baptized and received her First Holy Communion and Confirmation at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno MN.

Toni attended parochial school in Wilno as well as country grade school in Ivanhoe and Hendricks MN.  She graduated from Canby High School in 1959, but since her parents moved to Canby when she was a senior, she always felt that Hendricks High School was her alma mater.  After graduation she attended Minneapolis School of Business and then went on to work first as a nanny, then as a secretary for a company in Minneapolis.  In 1961, she met a lifetime girlfriend named Judy from Jordan MN and they visited Judy’s aunt and uncle in Denver CO and 2 weeks later decided to take a train to Denver and they both settled down in Denver for the rest of their lives.  She worked several jobs in Denver (an insurance agency, for a private investigator, and lastly for a company known as Engineering Consultants Inc. (ECI)), where she remained until she retired in 2006.  At this position she grew to love her job as she traveled the world over – France, China, Viet Nam, England, just to name a few.

On August 12, 1967, she married Elton Davis at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora CO.  From this union, Toni and Elton welcomed 2 beautiful boys into this world; Jason, now deceased, and Bradley, who now lives in California.

The things that made Toni the happiest were her family and her grandchildren; Luke, Sophie, and Paige.   She loved her Denver Broncos team (she had season tickets since the 70’s), she golfed, bowled, played softball, and loved going out to eat with her friends to new restaurants.  Toni was a very caring and generous person.  Very often you’d see her giving money to people on the streets.

She was a member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church since her marriage and was very active in the lady’s groups at church.   Toni lived with her sister/husband, Donna and Todd, for 3 years.  As her illness progressed, she required more care, so her family wanted her to move closer to her son/daughter-in-law in Riverside CA.

Toni is sadly missed by her entire family.  Her husband, Elton, of 38 years, now deceased, was a Denver policeman.  She was extremely proud of Elton as he not only was a phenomenal policeman, but he was also in charge of special events in Denver.  He escorted many famous dignitaries, presidents, movie stars, and even Pope John II when he was at Cherry Creek in the 90’s.  He was able to give our mother a rosary that was blessed by Pope John, and he accompanied the Pope to Estes Park here in the Colorado mountains, and upon their return to Denver, Elton saved a little stone that was wedged in the Pope’s shoe.  Elton passed away in December 2005.

Toni is preceded in death by her husband, her son, Jason, her dad, Anton, her mother, Sophie, sisters Louise (Gary), and Paulette (Behnke).

She is survived by her son, Bradley and wife Kara, and grandchildren Luke, Sophie, and Paige and 2 sisters Joan (Don) Burt of Topeka KS, and Donna (Todd) Hoyt of Parker CO and many nieces and nephews.

Blessed Be Her Precious Memory
