Patty June Matheis, age 92, resident of Hemet, CA, died Friday, July 1st, 2022, at Pacifica
Senior Memory Care in Menifee, California. She was born June 1st, 1930, in LeRoy, KS. She
was the daughter of Shot George and Oleeta Corwin George. Patty attended Aliceville, KS grade school
and graduated from Westphalia high school. She then taught for one year at Avandale rural school.
Patty moved to Kansas City and worked Bell Telephone Company. While in Kansas City she met a service
man, Kenneth Dale Matheis. They married March 1st, 1953. They had two daughters: Peggy Ann and
Karla Irene. They settled in Redondo Beach, CA. Patty worked for TRW. She handled all the orders from
US Government contracts.
Patty retired in 1991 and lived in Prescot, AZ for five years before she moved to Hemet, CA where she
enjoyed life! In Hemet she lived in Panorama Village where she was very active at golfing, playing cards,
taking trips, and having fun with her friends at the Panorama clubhouse. Patty moved to Pacifica Care to
receive fulltime care in 2020.
The things Patty loved most: Elvis, cooking (baking pies), being with friends and family, collecting frogs,
crafts, golfing, playing cards, traveling, and worshipping God.
Survivors include her daughter Peggy Ann Barks and husband Morris; daughter Karla Irene McGrail and
fiancé Ed Clements; brother Bill George and wife Mary; granddaughter Amanda Barks; and
granddaughter Ashley McGrail. She was preceded in death by her parents Shot and Oleeta George; and
her sister and brother-in-law, Mona and Donald Stern.
The funeral will be held August 8th, 12:00 pm at Inland Memorial Chapel 120 N. Buena Vista St., Hemet,
CA 92543. Immediately following there will be a private internment service at Menifee Valley Cemetery.
