Carolina Rubio Padilla

May 26, 1944-March 25, 2023

Carolina was born on May 26, 1944 in San Bernardino County and passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in Colton CA at the age of 78 surrounded by her three children, Luis Rodriguez, Elena Contreras, and Teresa Torres.  She attended and graduated from St Bernardine High.  In 1988 she became an employee with the City of Colton and was later elected to serve as the City Clerk.  She successfully ran a second time and continued to hold that position until the time of her passing.  Although Carolina could be a force to be reckoned with, she was well respected for her attention to detail, her knowledge of the rules and for being a mentor to many staff for whom she was responsible.  She was a huge Dodger fan, loved the beach, driving into Mexico and enjoyed annual camping trips with family.   To her children she was a best friend, provider and mommy.  She is survived by her sisters Teresa Constant, Clara Louise Reyes, her three children,eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Elena Padilla, her brother Manuel Julio Padilla and her best friend in the world, Regina Hernandez whom she missed dearly.  May they both rest in eternal peace.
